Who We Are
Tupu Pacific Alcohol and Other Drug Service provides Pacific-led alcohol and other drug counselling, group, and community support for Pacific peoples and families across Tāmaki Makaurau.
The service offers clinical and cultural assessment, group and individual therapy, and family-inclusive practice in Pacific languages including Tongan, Samoan and Niuean.
Tupu is part of Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) under Te Whatu Ora Waitematā.

Central, South and West Auckland
Our Service
- Community-based service (no residential beds)
- Sessions held in community clinics and via mobile support
Duration of Stay
- Determined by individual treatment plan
What We Offer
- Assessment: cultural and clinical, including comprehensive screening and treatment planning
- Walk-In Clinics: South & Central Auckland (Mon–Fri 10 am – 1 pm)
- Booked Assessments: West Auckland (Mondays) and CPS Railside (Thursdays)
- Group Work: Pacific-language psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and skills-based groups for adults and youth
- Counselling: one-on-one sessions using CBT, MI and family-inclusive approaches in Tongan, Samoan and Niuean
- Mobile Support: home and community visits
- Family / Whānau Engagement: facilitated family sessions and inclusive planning
- Cultural Support: access to Matua, engagement in Pacific practice models, cultural identity strengthening, language and Pacific values
- Vocational Support: employment support (West Auckland region)
- Referral Support: transition planning and referral to social and community services
