Who We Are
Te Wairua means “two streams of healing.” Odyssey’s Te Wairua programme provides a therapeutic residential environment for adults experiencing co-existing challenges with alcohol and other drug use and mental health. The programme integrates clinical, and peer supports to help tāngata whai ora build stability, wellbeing, and long-term recovery.

Our Accommodation
Residential programme – Adults 18 years and over - 11 beds total (6 male / 5 female).
Duration of Stay
Average programme length 18+ months (based on individual goals and progress).
What We Offer
- Therapeutic community model of care
- Group work – psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and skills-based groups
- Individual work – CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed approaches
- Whānau engagement – facilitated family sessions and whānau-inclusive planning
- Cultural support – tikanga-based practice, cultural identity strengthening, Te Whare Tapa Whā groups
- Vocational support – education pathways, volunteering opportunities, employment readiness
- Aftercare – supported transition planning and connection with community services
