Rubicon Youth

Who We Are

Rubicon is an alcohol and other drug (AoD) and co-existing problems (CEP) health service for youth aged 11 – 19 years.
It is a community-based service providing AoD / CEP counselling, harm-reduction education, group facilitation, programmes, and mentoring support across Whangārei, Kaipara and Far North districts.
Some counsellors are DAPAANZ-registered practitioners.

• Community-based service (non-residential)

Duration of Stay

• Up to 12 months (engagement contract)

What We Offer

• Community programmes and group facilitation
• One-on-one counselling (including brief intervention)
• Nursing care and drug testing
• Youth mentors providing peer and social support
• CEP support and intervention
• Treatment planning – relapse prevention, risk management, case management
• Sensory-modulation, trauma-informed and CBT/MI/DBT-based counselling
