Who We Are

The Salvation Army Whangārei Bridge provides treatment pathways for people experiencing harm from alcohol &/or drug use. Treatment options include Making Changes Group, Bridge Day Programme, and Brief Intervention.

Our Service

Non-residential community-based alcohol and other drug support.

Duration of Engagement

Making Changes Group: Wednesdays 12:30pm – 2:30pm (4 sessions).

Bridge Day Programme: Monday – Thursday 9:10am – 12:15pm (8 weeks).

Brief Intervention: Up to 6 x One to One Sessions to address specific needs.

Engagement length varies depending on individual need, goals, and intervention type. Support may range from brief intervention to longer-term counselling and group participation.

What We Offer

Treatment pathways include:

  • Making Changes Group: this group explores the impact of alcohol &/or drug use and sets goals for change
  • Bridge Day Programme: a more in-depth educational group to help reduce the harm experienced from alcohol &/or drug use
  • Brief Intervention: Up to 6 x One to One Sessions to address specific needs
  • Recovery Church Whangārei: Whangārei Salvation Army, 3–7 Aubrey Street, Whangārei. Fridays, 6 pm. Phone: 09 438 8335. No booking is required; just come along
