Piritahi Hau Ora is a marae-based Primary Health Care clinic, with a wrap-around social services team. Alongside primary health care services, Piritahi Hau Ora offers social services, like alcohol and other drug support to the residents of Waiheke Island.

What We Offer
Our information, education, support and counselling initiatives aim to reduce alcohol- and drug-related harm on Waiheke Island.
Piritahi Hau Ora’s alcohol and drug services assist people who have concerns about their own, or a loved one’s, alcohol/drug use.

• Referral support for Residential Detox
• Medication review
• Co-existing disorders
• Follow-up programs
• One-to-one counselling
• Group counselling
• EMDR/trauma therapy
• Drug testing
• He Waahi Haumaru school-based programme
Eligibility
We support individuals who meet the following criteria:
• Waiheke Island resident
• Aged 16+
• Experiencing challenges with alcohol or other drug use
Please note, we may not be the right service for individuals who:
• Are non-Waiheke Island residents
• Have acute unmanaged mental health needs requiring specialist care
• Present an immediate risk to themselves or others
• Need support that falls outside our service capacity (e.g., intensive physical health needs)
